En aquella época era EL CASINO, y el centro de reunión de la digamos \ burguesía\ de Valdepeñas.
Con el paso del tiempo el casino cerro sus puertas y el ayuntamiento de Valdepeñas adquirió el edificio que rehabilitó en el año 2007.
En ella se alberga dos salas de exposiciones, la concejalía de cultura,el archivo municipal y la biblioteca municipal, esta última ,bajo mi punto de vista ha perdido muchos puntos respecto a la que había anteriormente, pues está solo cuenta con asientos y mesas para niños, que van a hacer allí sus tareas del colegio, pero para los adultos no hay ni asientos, parece ser que los adultos solo vamos a visitar la biblioteca para préstamos y no para leer en ella, para mí es un placer hacerlo y para mucha gente,pero lo dicho, no hay ni un solo asiento para ello.
